Publications encompass nearly a third of my work at CIEL. During my time with the organization, I have refreshed our visual approach by creating templates that organize different types of publications into a cohesive taxonomy and have spearheaded the creative direction for all publications released from June 2022 onward.

CIEL’s taxonomy of publications are spread across three categories: Flagship Publications, Issue Briefings, and Factsheets. Every publication released gets categorized based on its intricacy of information, length, and target audience. Flagship publications are seminal works. They are the most thoroughly built out of publications, housing ten’s of thousands of words, hundreds of endnotes, and many hours to see through to completion. Issue Briefings are focused writings on a myriad of climate and environmental topics. Finally, Factsheets are two to four-page documents highlighting top-level messages of a given issue.
